Who We Are

Brian McNamara founded Cove Custom in 2021 with a distinct vision: to merge his passions for Fine Art and Fine Craftsmanship. With over 20 years of experience in the fine arts, Brian has worked alongside world-renowned museums and corporate collections throughout New England. Collaborating with some of the most respected artists and curators, he has helped bring to life world-class exhibitions, installations, and artworks that balance beauty and function.

In addition to his expertise in fine carpentry, Brian is a lifelong student of all craft, continually expanding his skills in technique and design. His diverse training and hands-on experience with a wide variety of materials allow him to approach each project with a unique perspective—whether it's creating custom furniture, art installations, or other specialized works. This broad expertise enables Brian to offer clients pieces that are not only visually striking but also expertly crafted.

Cove Custom operates from Pawtuxet Village, a picturesque area on the border of Providence and Warwick, Rhode Island. All custom pieces are carefully fabricated in our local shop by a talented, close-knit team, ensuring that every project receives the highest level of attention to detail and craftsmanship.

Whether you're looking for a one-of-a-kind piece for your home or a custom installation to enhance your space, Brian and the Cove Custom team are dedicated to bringing your vision to life with artistry and precision.

Testimonials

“It was great to work with Brian and Cove Custom!  Brian delivered end to end service, from drafting ideas and solutions to fit my project needs, keeping me informed of progress and was agreeable to modifications as the final vision began to take hold.  He and his team performed delivery and install services and were very mindful of the nuances of my old house, leveling and adjusting pieces as needed.  Brian’s signature piece for my project included a beautiful 65+ bottle wine rack made of hard wood, customized to fit various bottle sizes.  The piece is timeless and will be with my family for decades to come. I highly recommend Brian for any custom design needs.”

"Working with Brian is an awesome experience.  He truly listens to your vision and can make it come alive.  His style is iterative and collaborative, working shoulder to shoulder with you to create a space that is unique, beautiful and functional.  I appreciated how much he communicated and checked in throughout the process, and couldn't be more pleased with the results. Brian was able to execute on a design that was far from cookie-cutter;  he created a one-of-a-kind work of art with reclaimed wood and a window seat to match.  My once underutilized dining room is now our favorite room and brings so much character and functionality to our home.”

"Brian worked with us to design and build a beautiful, functional, and unique kitchen island which we absolutely love. He harvested, cured, and treated the wood for our custom, from-scratch butcher block himself. Brian's passion and masterful skill with his craft is clear throughout each stage of the design, fabrication, and delivery process. The process of working with Brian was so easy and such a delight and we could not be happier with the end result. We get so many compliments on the piece and we're already dreaming up future projects for which we can commission Brian's artistry, craftsmanship, and skill. Anyone would be lucky to have one of Brian's pieces in their home!"
